2017 Alberta Indigenous Games

August 13-17th

Rundle Park, Edmonton, AB

12 SPORTS

 

Indigenous youth from across Alberta are invited to

engage in a week of competitive sports, traditional games,

special events, education, and cultural connection at the

 2017 Alberta Indigenous Games

    Registration is $80 per Sport for each Participant

             Entire Teams can sign up for $400 Total

       Participants can register in more than one sport.

Archery, Athletics (Track & Field), Ball Hockey, Basketball, Canoeing, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer

Divisions: Junior: 2005-2002, Intermediate: 2001-1999,

Senior: 1998-1997

Volleyball, Beach Volleyball , and Fastpitch Divisions:

Junior: 2005-2003, Intermediate: 2002-2000, Senior: 1999-1997

Lacrosse Divisions Co-Ed: Junior: 2007-2005, Intermediate: 2004-2001,

Senior: 2000-1997

(*Divisions are subject to change depending on excess or lack of registration for each division/sport)

Athletes Registering for Athletics Can pick up to 4 events to compete in:

     100m – 200m – 400m – 800m – 1500m – 3000m – Cross Country – Long Jump – High Jump – Discus – Javelin – Shot Put

All participants under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a chaperone.

Day Schedule & Location of each of the Sports:

Monday- Tuesday Aug. 14-15th

Cross Country @ Rundle Park (Monday Morning Only)

      Golf@ Rundle Park Golf Course (Monday only & each golfer is provided with 3 clubs driver, pitching wedge, and putter if they don’t have their own set)

Athletics (Track & Field) @ East Glen High School Track

Ball Hockey Location TBD

Soccer @ Rundle Park Soccer Fields

Volleyball @ East Glen High School & Other Location TBD

Wednesday-Thursday August 16-17th

Archery (Tuesday-Thursday) in Sherwood Park

Basketball @ East Glen High School

Canoeing @Rundle Park Pond

Fastpitch Softball @ Rundle Park Ball Diamonds

Lacrosse @ Glengarry Arena

Tuesday-Wednesday Aug. 15-16th

     Beach Volleyball in the evenings @ Rundle Park beach volleyball pits after all the other sports. There will be Co-ed competition as well as boys/girls.

Special Events:

Eagle Staff Run – Opening Ceremonies – Entertainment Stage – Showcase Lacrosse Game – Career Fair – BBQ & Round Dance – Talent Show – Elders Village – Cultural Arts & Crafts Village – Traditional Games – Medal Ceremonies – Closing Ceremonies
